It is estimated that it takes 2,000 steps to walk a mile. On Sunday morning at 5:00 AM, 26 Scouts and Adults showed up to take a Walk in the Park at Oak Mountain. They were on the trail by 6:45 AM with rest stops at 9:30 and 1:30 and completed their 20 mile goal by 5:00 PM. Of the 26 that started 23 completed the 20 miles. It was a great day for a hike with beautiful skies and vista from atop Double Oak Mountain. You can recognize the Scouts that completed because they are walking like old men and the adults who completed are walking like older men. Special thanks to our Trail Leader Steve Parris and Senior Patrol Leader Mark Mangles for keeping everyone together.
Congratulations Gentlemen on your 40,000 steps!
