Troop 97 once again got the pleasure of sponsoring the ‘Mash Tent’, at Edgewood Elementary School’s Annual Spring Festival on April 27, 2019. The festival normally is at the school, but due to construction, this year’s event took place at Homewood Middle School’s football practice field.
Troop 97 has been a sponsor of this booth for a number of years. For those unfamiliar with the Mash Tent, we set up an old style canvas tent, with some army cots inside of it, a canvas awning coming off the front of it, and lanterns hanging in front to make it look authentic.
Scouts demonstrate their first aid skills on willing participants using fake bandages and fake blood on them to create “fake” injuries. Everyone had a fun time, and it’s one of the most popular booths each year.
Thanks to the scouts and adults who helped out this year. I feel sure we will be asked to sponsor it again next year.
