The first time I came to scouts I was very nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. I thought I would be lonely and bored. Then when I saw all the fun campouts and activities they had and the fact that I had friends. The campouts kept me in it and my friends made it enjoyable.

My favorite campout was probably the ski campout in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. We came up on the bus and it was a long drive. When we got there we stayed in one of six cabins in Maggie Valley. The cabins were very nice and I stayed with all my friends. Then we went skiing all day the next day and it was really fun. The thing I enjoyed most about the campout was being able to ski and hang out with my friends.

Boy Scouts is a long and strenuous journey that produces an even longer lasting impact. It at first seems hard to stick with but each year I stayed I added many more friendships, accomplishments, and memories to my life. Scouts can be hard but also fun, and leaves you with something you will always remember for the rest of your life.
